Ah, Christmas time! That time of the year when we hear people say such
stupid things. I’m not just talking about the person who’s afraid his civil
liberties will be violated if he accidentally sees your Christmas tree through
your window while he’s out taking a walk on a brisk December morning. There are
other acts of nuttiness to look forward to. My favorite was when NOW came out
with a Pro-Choice Christmas card. I
remember when a spokeswoman for NOW was interviewed
by Bill O’Reilly. He asked her if Jesus would
be happy with a Pro-Choice Christmas card. She answered, “Of Course.”
With all due respect to O’Reilly, I believe he asked the wrong question.
He should have asked, “Was it an option for the Virgin Mary to decide whether
or not to carry baby Jesus?”
