It’s Fourth of July. For some of us, this is a day to
celebrate the great nation we live in, created at the cost of blood and courage over
two hundred years ago. For others, it's a time to continue bashing America because
she just won't get in step with the Global Village, made possible by
the brave and ethical United Nations, the Socialization of Europe and her
twin sister, the Muslimization of Europe. They hate America but they
will have a beach barbeque anyway. Over hot dogs and beer, they will
use their freedom of speech (paid for by someone more patriotic than
themselves) and they will slam America at
every turn. In some of these countries that they put ahead of America on the
"ethics" list, they would be taken out and shot for speaking
against the government. Somehow, they don't seem to notice that their right to
criticize America makes America the greatest
country on Earth. Earth…Yeah…Let’s not be excited about America.
Let’s
just be excited about Earth. We are all citizens of Planet Earth. Maybe
we will even be invited by the Vulcans to join the United Federation of
Planets someday. To be too
patriotic is to be divisive. Of course, these same people who do not
want to
divide up the Earth into different countries, do not seem to mind
dividing up
American into different cultures. They call it multiculturalism. So let me see if I understand how this works. If
you are proud to be an American, you are really a sectarian. You are part of the problem and not part of
the solution. You should be thinking of the entire globe and only the
globe. However (and this is very
important) if you are an American citizen but you come from another country, it
is perfectly fine to celebrate the country of your roots rather than America. This is
not as true if you come from a Western culture but if you are from Mexico or the Middle
East or any Third World culture,
those countries are very important. Indeed, your parent country should always
be more important to your identity than being an American. Are you catching on? Patriotism is OK if you
live in America and some
other country holds your allegiance. But if America is the
object of your patriotism, it should be traded for a love affair with the Earth
itself.
The consistency really does exist. Honestly it does. Politically Correct
people are the most consistently inconsistent people I have ever met.
Happy Fourth of July!
