When asked on Face The Nation
if he was taking his trip to the Middle East to clear up the public
perception that he is inexperienced in foreign affairs, Barrack Obama
replied, "The interesting thing is that those who are really
experienced are not worried about this." As examples of those
"really experienced" he referred to the troops he had been meeting
these last few days.
Let me see if I'm following our champion of change. Does Obama mean to
imply that he did more than shake hands with a few soldiers? He
also looked them in the eye and said, "Hey, Buddy. Be straight
with me. Do you think I'll make a good Commander-In Chief?"
I'm sure our servicemen abroad were polite and cordial and it may even
have been a thrill to meet one who might someday become president, out
of respect for the office itself. But I've talked to many
servicemen and listened to many servicemen on the radio and television.
To say they support the very man who voted against their mission and
who vows to bring them home whether the job is finished or not, is to
stretch the imagination in ways Richard Simmons could not even stretch
his body. Perhaps Obama is talking about some bonding that took place
when they shared waffles together. Since "waffle" also describes his
foreign policy ideas, he can now make a case that our soldiers accept
his policies.
Obama may indeed win the election. If it were held today, he would for
sure. Even so, when they tally how many votes he got from our military,
I'll eat my hat if he even gets ten percent. Of course I don't have a
hat but I'll tell you what Obama doesn't have: He doesn't have a clue
as to what's going on in the real world! The thought of this guy
becoming Commander-In-Chief, gives me a cold chill. I can only imagine
what it gives our brave servicemen.
