Why Be Against More "Fairness Doctrine?" It Already Works So Well!

Those of you looking forward to the regulating of talk radio under a Democratic administration, where every station has to offer equal time, should take a hint from the way such "fairness" was handled this week in the print media. The New York Times published Obama's Op Ed piece, only to reject John McCain's.  Of course, they are willing to offer McCain his own day in court, but only if he follows some guidelines. He must use the same kind of outline as Obama and like Obama, he must include some time tables showing when he would bring our troops home from Iraq. The fact that McCain does not believe in time tables is beside the point. I'm confident that our objective, even handed  New York Times also asked something of Obama. They probably asked if they could run out and get him a sandwich while he was writing his article.

I'm eager for McCain to get his fair shake because I've heard that two or three people actually still read The New York Times, so here are some instructions for the Republican nominee, guaranteed to get by New York Times hoops and hurdles.

1) Tell them that you agree with every one of Obama's positions, even the ones he's changed, which is all of them.

2) Tell them that even though the two of you now agree, Obama would still make a better president because he isn't old.

3) Add a "How old am I? " joke for effect: Suggested joke: "I'm so old, when I went to school, there was no such subject as history."

4) Present a time table of exactly when you plan to pull out of Iraq and describe your distribution plan, how you will put this schedule into the hands of every Al-Qaeda operative so that they can know precisely when it is safe to attack Iraq again.

5) Promise to kiss Obama's behind the next time you see him.

6) Click your heels together three times and say: "There's no man like Obama!  There's no man like Obama!  There's no man like Obama!"

And then, maybe, just maybe, they'll print your article too.
