Sarah Palin and John McCain are coming
under attack for their
"tasteless negative campaigning." Supposedly, it is despicable
that
Obama's connection with Bill Ayers should be mentioned, despite the
fact that he set off a bomb at the Pentagon a number of years ago and
avoided jail, only due to illegal wiretapping. This is
negative campaigning! This is something "the American people do
not
want to hear." Now mind you, it's not despicable that Obama associated
with an unrepentant, self confessed terrorist who kicked off Obama's
campaign in his
home, who openly teaches an anti-American ideology, and who hired Obama
to raise funds for a project that indoctrinated students with his
ideology. None of this concerns our liberal media. But the fact
that McCain and Palin bring it up? This concerns them! This, is hitting below the belt!
Prior to McCain raising the issue, the story was getting little
traction in the media, even though it's been out for about a year. This
week, when new information came forth from the University of
Illinois, proving that Obama had a closer connection to Ayers than he
had previously admitted, (meaning that Obama lied through his teeth)
the liberal media (with little exception)
still seemed uninterested. A much bigger concern for these
"Edmund Murrows," is the Palin
Trooper Gate Case. Journalists salivate over that story with more
anticipation
than the latest installment of Lost.
So let's add it all up and see if we can figure out how this
works: Our potential president of the United States has strong
ties with a terrorist,
the extent of which, we are only now discovering, and the likes of ABC,
CBS, NBC or The New York Times do not think this is worth a lot of
effort or investigation. On the other hand, a governor (who is
allowed by law to fire any employee, for any reason, even if she
doesn't
like the way he wears his tie) may have fired a
man who would not terminate a state trooper who threatened her father. This story needs to be taken on with more zeal than Elliot Ness going after Al Capone.
Future generations of historians will look back on this era with
wonder and utter amazement. That is, if our culture survives. It is
dangerous, so very dangerous, when a nation's economic concerns trump
the character of a presidential candidate with enough rocky connections
to fill the Grand Canyon. Any ONE of these droppings would have
been sufficient to end another candidate's career. Each revelation is a nightmare of its own magnitude, be it
Wright, be it Ayers, be it Rezco, be it it ACORN, or be it a vote for
infanticide.
Obama's only answer to any of these fair, reasonable questions is, "The American people aren't
interested in such a negative campaign. They want to hear about the
issues."
Obama, I have a flash for you. These are the issues! If
you think "the American people" are that stupid, (and evidently a good
deal of them are) it still does not excuse you from owing "the American
people" an explanation. And you need to explain it without using that
tired non-sequitur called, George Bush. You are not running against Bush. You are running against a man who has made charges you refuse to explain.
It doesn't matter. He's getting away with this in the eyes of at least half the country. Obama will bring about change.
And that, my friends, is just about the only thing he says which is
true. He will indeed bring about change. Be careful what you wish for.
He may just wave that magic wand and, "Presto! Step right up! See
a self proclaimed magician make the United States of America disappear!"
