The media did everything they could to paint Sarah Palin into some kind of idiot, all the while ignoring gaffe after gaffe from Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden, who, (along with his other voices of vain vernacular), asked a man in a wheel chair to stand up so that he could be honored and lectured us about how Franklin Roosevelt went on TV to address the American people right after the stock market crashed. Herbert Hoover was actually our president when the stock market crashed. As for when the first American families owned television sets, out of mercy to poor Joe, we'll just drop that one.
The gaffes, of course, are continuing, now that good ol' Joe actually is our Vice-President. How does the media respond when his comments range from discouraging air travel to accidentally divulging national security secrets? I think Dennis Miller put it best. They just smile and say, "Oh well. That's Joe!"
Would Sarah Palin or George Bush have gotten away with such loose tongue? I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count.
A new book is coming out that supposedly reveals how President Obama (hoping to keep it under his hat) had to finally reprimand this fast talking fellow who is only a heart beat away from the presidency. Whether or not such a conversation can ever be proven, only time will tell. But I simply can not imagine that Joe Biden has been anything but an embarrassment so far.
A WORD OF COMFORT TO PRESIDENT OBAMA: Just be grateful. It could have been much worse. Instead of making Joe your second in command, you could have made him best man at your wedding. He might have spoken to the audience one minute after the wedding ceremony, smiling warmly and saying,"Ladies and gentlemen, Barack and Michelle wish to thank you for witnessing this sacred ceremony, and now they invite you to join them for the conception that will immediately follow.....Ah...I mean RECEPTION that will immediately follow."
