Every time President Obama responds to criticism about his policies, he does so by explaining that what we think he is doing, is not really what he is doing.
When even the U.S. medical community puts out a statement against nationalized health care, Obama says: "Those who want to keep the health care they already have, may do so."
But inasmuch as private health care will be forced out of business by the cheaper government offer, our president is not being entirely honest. Or, here's another way to put it: He's not being honest at all!
It's the same with the other myriad of policies re-carving our landscape in ways that would make Mt. Rushmore blush:
-Obama gives a speech about banks, saying he has no desire to take over banks. Meanwhile, he has taken over many banks.
-Obama gives a speech about the auto industry, saying he has no intention of running the auto industry. Meanwhile, he has pitched his tent in Detroit and acquired a mammoth chunk of the horseless carriage market, re-setting the salaries of CEO's and mandating what kinds of vehicles can be produced (out of concern for Global Warming of course).
-Obama says he has no wish to grow government. Somehow, he manages to say this with a straight face. Meanwhile, the government has grown more on his watch then ever before in American history.
Evidently, we are supposed to listen to his speeches and ignore his actions. After all, what matters more, words or facts? Obama assumes he can get away with this since people ignored the facts about his past when they elected him, paying attention, instead, to his smooth flowing rhetoric.
It's like listening to the weather report as it forecasts blue sky and sunshine. All one has to do is open up his window to watch the rain blast down in buckets. None of this matters if the weather man smiles, makes jokes, and looks good in his three piece suit.
This is Bob Siegel, making the obvious, obvious.
