It's not like this amendment was not brought up already before Obama gave his speech on health care, assuring us that public health care will not fund abortion and that those who tell you otherwise are lying. It was introduced by the Republicans and shot down by the Democrats. What am I talking about? An amendment to the health care bill, forbidding public funds for abortion. Well, now the amendment was introduced again in the Senate and again rejected like a door slammed in the face. Senator Max Baucus of Montana says that the bill already reflects federal law which bars funding for abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother. What he is conveniently forgetting to tell you is this: The health of the mother (according to our current law) can be determined any way she and her doctor decide. If having a baby will jeopardize "emotional health" the doctor can claim that her life was in danger.
How do they plan to get away with this stuff? It's quite simple, really. They are hoping you are just that stupid.
