Obama's twenty year relationship with the honorable Rev. Wright, has gotten him into the kind of trouble he hopes we will all forget and put behind us, but interestingly enough, his new pastor is every bit as controversial. Carey Cash, a Navy chaplain at Camp David, has come under criticism for proselytizing in the military. Of course, we're commanded to share our faith in the Bible and evangelism doesn't hurt people unless one threatens to kill those who refuse to convert, which leads to Cash's other vice: He is willing to call Islam a violent religion. Hmm...Islam, a violent religion? Where oh where would he have gotten an idea like that? Man, this guy is dangerous.
According to Rev. Cash, Islam is "...a violent faith that from its birth has used the edge of the sword as a means to convert or conquer those with different religious convictions."
Last night, zealous Sean Hannity added Rev.Cash's name to the list of troublesome Obama appointments and partners, saying, "When will this president learn to start vetting people?" I'm a big admirer of Sean Hannity but I cannot agree with him this time. Although Sean does a good job of speaking out against Militant-Islam, he has evidently bought into the lie about Islam-At -Large, namely that most Muslims are peaceful and only a few nutty terrorists have hijacked this benign faith. For the record: Islam is not a peaceful religion and its founder, Mohammad absolutely commanded violence in the name of Allah (Surah 9). Obama's pastor was one-hundred percent accurate.
Having said that, I am convinced Obama did not know about Cash's beliefs and they will undoubtedly concern him more than all the dope dug up on his other controversial comrades. Unlike these additional associates whom the president dismisses only after kicking and screaming, (or doesn't dismisses at all) Obama will drop Rev. Cash faster than he can apologize to holy Egypt for evil America. Already, his spokespeople are denying that the man is actually Obama's pastor. Obama just attends his services a lot, but that doesn't mean Rev. Cash is his pastor.
To those of you who like Obama and are concerned that he could have chosen such a dangerous Right-Wing mentor for spiritual guidance: Give the guy a break. This was only an accident. I'm sure when our president searched for a new minister, he never intended to find a true Christian who actually obeys the Bible and honestly assesses the Koran. It's all a mistake and the mistake will be quickly rectified.
