Time for us to stop talking about "free health care" because it's getting difficult even for a lying politician to keep using that phrase with a straight face.
In the House version of the bill, (you know, that 2000 page turkey that passed just in time for Thanksgiving) the idea is for people to have "affordable health care, including a government option if they want one." But even this option is something you would pay for.
Oh yes. How clumsy of me. I almost forgot one small, microscopic matter: If you do not purchase health care you can be thrown in jail, not merely fined, but thrown in jail!
This is about as free as the kinds of special deals we used to get from used car salesmen. "Hey, pal. You didn't tell me you wanted a car with brakes. If you needed all those extra features, you should have ordered the deluxe package."
In all fairness to car salesmen, they are starting to look much better compared to the people running our country.
