This Is What Happens When We Can't Find Real Problems To Be Concerned About Anymore

Zachary Christie is six years old. He goes to school in Newark, Delaware, or at least he used to before committing his terrible, heinous crime. I'll bet you never thought up to now that a six year old could do anything evil unless you were watching The Omen. Well, think again: Zachary is bad and I mean REAL BAD!!! What did the little nipper do? OK, hold on to your seats because this is going to knock those socks right off: He brought his new Cub Scout eating utensil to school so that he could use it at lunch time. Sounds harmless, you say? Well, a lot you know: The utensil included a knife!

Since this violates the school's zero tolerance policy on weapons, young Zach faces 45 days in reform school.  Assuming for a moment that the eating utensil was a genuine problem, they couldn't just talk to the kid and ask him not to bring it back?  Or, if they absolutely have to punish him, they couldn't make Zak stay after school one day to erase blackboards? Instead, they ship him off to reform school? REFORM SCHOOL?  Is it just me, or is anyone concerned that in reform school, a Cub Scout might be around genuinely dangerous kids?

And that's the latest from our current world of logic and wisdom. Obama's Safe School Czar, who complimented a supporter of NAMBLA and encouraged a male high school student to have sex with an older gentleman that was molesting him, doesn't concern today's educators. But when a Cub Scout brings an eating utensil to school, that concerns them!

Democrats Set a Trap For Republicans

The House voted Thursday to extend Hate Crimes legislation to protect homosexuals. Broad interpretations of this law can prosecute free speech, even pastors if some nut job claims his violence against a gay person was inspired by a reading of Romans Chapter One or any similar sermon that calls homosexuality a sin. An earlier version of this bill passed the House back in April but met opposition in the Senate.

I have a few questions:

1) Why have we heard nothing about this in the media? I did not even hear the modest little story discussed on talk radio. Obviously I cannot catch every single show all day long and so I am sure there was something, somewhere, but I listen to a good deal of talk radio and I heard nothing, either this week or the months leading up to this monstrous assault upon free speech. I have heard nothing on Fox News editorial shows either. Yes, Fox News did do a report but nothing from the big guns who normally are not shy about their opinions. Nothing from O'Reilly, Hannity, not even Glen Beck who doesn't seem to be afraid to talk about anything.

2) Inasmuch as the House Democrats shamelessly attached this legislation to a military spending bill (as if one subject has anything to do with the other) in an attempt to force Republicans into voting for it, I want to know how many Republican Congressmen took the bait. Yes, of course I understand their dilemma. What Conservative politician wants to explain to his constituents that he refused to support a bill that helped the military? My point, is, they could explain it to their voters and had a responsibility to do the right thing instead of looking like doing the right thing. Let's think about this, because the devious genius of the Democrats is not being noticed. They lured Republican suckers into an irresistible trap where they can delude themselves into believing they have the best of both worlds. Supposedly, a Republican Congressman can think to himself, "If a Liberal asks me, I will say I voted against Hate Crimes and supported gay rights. On the other hand, if a Conservative complains, I can explain that I did not want to cast my vote but had to for the sake of the troops."

Much as it sounds good to support the troops, our troops will not have much freedom to fight for if we continue to erode free speech an inch at a time.

Your Children Would Be Safer if They Played Baseball in the Middle of the Freeway!

Meet Obama's "Safe School Czar", Kevin Jennings.  Jennings is a former school teacher who was once asked for advice from a 15 year old student who claimed than an older gentleman was having sex with him. Did Jennings call the authorities and try to punish a child molester? No. Instead, he encouraged the student to use a condom. Jennings is founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Civil Rights Network, which probably explains why the school incident did not disturb him. Make no mistake: Had this been a female student having sex with a male adult, there would not have been anything to even think about. Somehow, these days, when homosexuality is involved, it must be beautiful even when a minor is involved. The student has since come forth to say that he was 16 (legal consensual age in Massachusetts) and not 15, but Jennings was under the impression that he was 15 and wrote that age down when he described this incident in his book, One Teacher in 10. He also wrote that the student, "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on campus." Apparently, Jennings was proud of the advice he offered, since it helped to awaken the boy's true homosexuality.

Before I go on, I realize that many homosexuals today find pediphiles disgusting and are quick to protest when any discussion of homosexuality includes pediphilia. I am sympathetic to the innocent homosexuals but the agenda of organizations like NAMBLA and their association with "gay rights" cannot be ignored, since they are purposely, consciously using the strategies of militant gay activism to accomplish their mission. They ask the question, "What is wrong with beautiful love between a man and a boy?" with the same earnest tone that others use when bringing up love with someone of their own gender. Members of NAMBLA have also marched in gay rights parades.

Just a fringe movement not worth mentioning? OK, how about this? In 1995 the American Psychiatric Association declassified pediphilia as an emotional disorder. And college professors, such as, John Spencer of Cambridge University, and Bruce Rind of Temple University, are teaching that we should lower consensual ages for sex. Rind actually challenges the notion that sex between an adult and a little child is harmful to the development of the child (Time Magazine On Line, April 29, 2002)

OK, back to Jennings. He has gone on record as saying that he gave poor advice to that student from long ago, but this is only because he was called to the carpet. Remember, previously he wrote and bragged about the advice he gave the kid. And now, the topper of them all: Jennings is on record complimenting Harry Hay, an outspoken supporter of NAMBLA!!!!!

Yes, sir! Kevin Jennings, our Safe School Czar. Are you reassured as to how safe your kids will be at school?  In an interview with Sean Hannity, George Stephanopoulos defended Jennings by saying that we have to look at the man's record and experience. I don't get it, George. Aren't these incidents part of the record?  Who cares what degree he has or how many accolades he has received? Who cares how long the man has been teaching?  I'm more interested in what he teaches and what he believes!  By the way, his record includes the goal of mandatory gay sexual education for schools. Are we afraid to criticize a gay activist out of fear of being called homophobes, just as we are afraid to criticize the president who appointed him out of fear of being called a racist?  Are we afraid, even of a man who has praised a supporter of NAMBLA?  Just watch.  The day is coming when child molesters will have their rights too. And all who object will be called pediphilophobes.  Our country has gotten very sick. And the diseased doctors are not looking for any cure.

Time For a New Spelling Bee

NOW (National Organization of Women) has publicly condemned David Letterman. As you will recall, David Letterman, instead of giving into blackmail, confessed over his TV program that he's had multiple sexual relations with staff women. Evidently this took place before he was married. Nevertheless, Letterman apologized many times for the acts themselves, for the embarrassment incurred by the women, and for the hurt this caused his wife since now he is married. He chose this course of action instead of paying some sleazebag hush money.

Such penitence is not enough for NOW. They insist that Letterman having sex with female co-workers was an abuse of power because they were subordinates. Genuine harassment takes place when women have sex with a boss for fear of losing their jobs. Nobody has made any such charge against Letterman, but NOW still won't let this go. Ironically, they were strangely silent when Bill Clinton confessed to having a relationship with his intern, Monica Lewinsky. And when further allegations came forth from Juanita Broderick, claiming that Clinton had actually raped her, then president of NOW, Patricia Ireland, reminded us in a debate with Bill Bennett over CNN, that just because a woman makes a charge, it doesn't automatically mean she is telling the truth. Not exactly what NOW had to say about Clarence Thomas when Anita Hill accused him of sexual harassment and was contradicted by every other female co-worker who knew her and Thomas. At that time, the lesson from NOW was, "A woman will never lie about an issue like this."

To his credit, Bennett looked Ireland in the eye and said, "I guess the lesson here is that it's wrong for a president to rape a woman unless that same president happens to be pro-choice."

Back to Letterman: He did something Clinton refused to do when first accused: He came clean and told the truth. Watching NOW go after Letterman after the way they defended Clinton, I find myself wondering if we are living in an imaginary world of H.G. Wells.

How do you spell hypocrisy?  N O W.

With A First Prize Like This, Who Needs a Booby Prize?

Winner of the Nobel Peace prize: Barack Obama. I have two comments to make, one about the winner, another about the prize itself.

First of all, nobody with any sense of decency should receive such a compromised award. The company of fellow recipients just isn't anything to brag about.  One of the winners, Jimmy Carter, encourages us to make deals with terrorists. Another winner,  Yassir Arafat, is a terrorist!  Now, I realize that a man's entire life should be examined when we are considering honoring his achievements and little things like terrorism need to be occasionally overlooked, so let me add that Arafat was a rapist too.

On to Obama.  Even if we wanted to suspend belief for a moment and pretend this award was not tarnished, what exactly has Obama done to deserve the grand honor? Where precisely do we see that the world is more peaceful since he took office?   The committee claims this was for "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

Cooperation?  Such as the cooperation of betraying friends like Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Israel? Diplomacy which allows unconditional talks with the holocaust denier, Ahamadinnejad?  No, probably the powers-that-be weren't thinking about all that stuff. Instead, they were rewarding Obama because he apologized on behalf of America to countries we should learn to emulate, countries like Egypt, Syria, and Russia.

The man has accomplished nothing, absolutely nothing, unless we want to count a bankrupted country well on its way toward Socialism,  more governmental control than the history of our nation has ever witnessed, and race relations that couldn't possibly be worse, inspired by a president no one is allowed to criticize without being dubbed a racist. That is America's award for electing the first African-American president in an attempt to put race behind us once and for all.

I don't suppose the Nobel Prize Committee would care to instead examine a recent American president, one who made significant strides towards women's rights by freeing the women of Afghanistan, women who now serve in the government but who once got murdered for not wearing "proper attire" in public. Naw....I guess not...In our dreams! How could the freeing of women compare to apologizing for America's recent deeds over the last few years which.....ah...well...which freed women?

Archaeology Backs Up Joseph: He's Not Just a Stage Show Anymore!

No longer can he be referred to only as a fictitious character from the Old Testament. Neither is his name limited to the lead singer in the 400th production you have seen of some youth theater's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, where you were forced to go back stage and tell your dear friend that her child was wonderful, even when he stunk.

Coins from Joseph's era have been discovered in boxes long ago stashed and ignored in Egypt's National Museum. They were previously believed to be charms and ornaments because some of them have holes, thus the slow interest and gradual realization that they were actually coins. One of the coins does indeed bear the image of Joseph and identifies him as the head of Pharaoh's treasury.

This is the first piece of evidence from the field of archaeology that authenticates Joseph as a Bible personage who really, truly lived, but not the first time facts eliminated other disputes from skeptics. Israel's very existence at the time ascribed to the exodus and even the reality of King David himself have been challenged. But recent findings forced all honest cynics to retract their words and take a second look.


David’s existence is corroborated by two pieces of basalt with the phrase, “House of David in one section and “King of Israel” in another. 1 A stele from ancient Egypt also provides much earlier corroboration for Israel’s existence as a nation during the time of King Mernapoth, the Pharaoh who succeeded Ramsees II.2 (You know.  That guy who messed up and saw his men clobbered at the Red Sea?  OK. “Sea of Reeds” for those of you just waiting to jump on me over accuracy.)

The Bible has been around for a long time and has survived attacks from every single generation. And yet, ironically, time also seems to be the Bible's friend, as time continues to unearth ancient witnesses.

Jimmy, Do We Have To Have Another of Our Little Talks?

On a recent CNN interview, former President Jimmy Carter denied that he had recently made a statement about Obama protesters, claiming that a good portion of them objected to the president's policies only because he is black.

"That's not what I said," Carter emphatically clarified.

Jimmy, I realize you are 85 now and maybe the ol' memory isn't ticking quite like it used to. And granted, while you were growing up, television cameras had not yet been invented, but honestly, Jimmy, it makes no sense to deny what we all heard you say.

On the subject of being 85, perhaps the idea of retirement is something you should consider. Maybe you can take up leather craft or sailing.  But whatever you decide, Jimmy, the next time you make comments about racism, or the sympathetic position we should be taking toward Hamas, you may want to activate your brain before you activate your mouth.

DISCLAIMER:  I mean no disrespect to people who are 85 years old. My own mother is much older than this and many at that age are sharp as a whistle. Mr. Carter may not be among them. On the other hand, he may just be a weasel and a liar. Actually, even as I write, I am starting to lean more toward Theory Two.

Middle East Predictions

As the drama between Israel, Ahamadinnejad, and Barack Obama continues to play out, I believe some predictions may just be in order. No, I am not sure of these things, but I am reasonably certian, not because of any special mystical or prophetic abilities, but because human nature is involved and human nature tends to be very predictable.

1) I believe Obama will try to cut a deal with Ahamadinnejad that includes forcing Israel into a two-state solution with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, not Israel. Obama has made some overtures this direction in the past and who knows?  This may already be the "secret deal" that caused the Obama administration to report "progress" last week.

2) Naturally Ahamadinnejad will agree to this deal and promise to stop building nukes.

3) Naturally Ahamadinnejad will be lying when he makes this agreement and he will continue to build nukes. He does not really care about the Palestinians and he is happy to sacrifice them by sending a bomb that would not only wipe out Israel, but her neighbors as well.

4) Israel will be forced to bomb Iran and take out her nuclear capability.

5) Most countries in the world will condemn Israel for what she did.

6) The United Nations will issue sanctions against Israel.

7) Venomous, cruel, and monster style Anti-Semitic statements will be printed on the Huffington Post and MoveOn.org.

8) Many Democratic politicians will condemn Israel, prefacing their comments with the statement: "I am not an Anti-Semite."

9) Obama will also rebuke Israel but with tempered, seasoned speech.

10) Meanwhile, much of the world, including Saudi Arabia, will be secretly grateful to Israel for what she did.

11) Obama will continue to push for a "two-state solution" believing that this will cause militant Muslims, including Muslims in the Phillippines and Indonesia, to stop hating the United States.

Does God Speak Through Dreams, and If So, How Do We Interpret Them?

On this week's Bob Siegel Show: Nero-Surgeons will still admit that we understand very little about the confusing and interesting phenomenon of dreaming. Most of the time, a dream does not come from God. But God does choose to speak through dreams on occasion and there are many incidents in scripture describing divinely appointed dreams. In fact, if every instance of dreams were removed from the Bible, we would be missing much.

God continues to speak through dreams today and the high majority of my program is dedicated to learning principles of dream interpretation. Included in the discussion will be testimonies of some of my own dreams and dreams that my friends had.

Why It May Be Good That We Did Not Get the Olympics

None of Obama's charm or speaking skills persuaded the Olympic Committee to give Chicago the 2012 prize. But maybe this is a good thing. The sooner it occurs to our president that he cannot talk anybody into anything, the sooner the situation with Ahamadinnejad might sink in. Maybe, just maybe, this maniac from Iran is going to build and fire missiles no matter how much the American president tells him about "change he can believe in."

Then again, maybe Obama will learn absolutely nothing. Senator Rowland Burris of Illinois wasted no time in blaming the rejection from Denmark on (you guessed it) George W. Bush.

If All Else Fails, Play the Holocaust Card

In a previous blog, I talked about Alan Grayson, the Democratic congressman from Florida who said, "Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick."  Nobody outside of Florida had heard of this guy before he decided to make a name for himself by barking out something outrageous. Since then, the fame has inspired even more and none of it comes as a big surprise. The latest? Our lack of universal health care and subsequent deaths have resulted in an American version of the holocaust! Yes sir! If all else fails, make a holocaust comparison! Of course, this guy has no problem with the millions of abortions that take place. Oh, no. He would never dare compare that to a holocaust, would he? And how about the Islamo-Muslim terrorists and fanatics who deny the real honest to goodness holocaust and cheerfully announce their plans to annihilate Israel? You see, when people conveniently drop the word "holocaust" just to score political points, they water down the impact and truth of the real holocaust. And now, with a brand spanking new authentic holocaust right around the corner, nobody seems less concerned than Democrats like Alan Grayson.  He loves using the word. But at the end of the day, he is worthless when it comes to preparing us for the real deal.

NOTE: Some of you are probably feeling tempted to write and inform me that Grayson himself is Jewish and therefore he has a right to talk about the holocaust. Let me save you the trouble. I know he is Jewish. So am I, but that does not give either of us a special license. Anyone should feel free to talk about the holocaust so long as they are speaking truthfully and responsibly. Ironically Jews throughout history have often been their own worst enemies when it comes to world affairs and I stick by my position: Those who use the word "holocaust" at the drop of a hat to advance their own pitiful careers, numb the world to the real holocaust. If Grayson's heritage is a factor at all here, that only means that as a Jew he should know better.

Mr. President, Just What Planet Do You Think We Live On?

Iranian President Ahmadinnejad denies the holocaust ever happened but plans to start one of his own. He is not shy about this belief. Neither is he shy about his Muslim theology about the coming of the 12th Imam (a kind of Muslim Messiah) to be brought about by a leader brave enough to cause world wide destruction.

This is the man we are dealing with, and so here is the obvious question: Just exactly what will Obama say to Ahamadinnejad that will inspire him to dismantle his nuclear bomb program? Does our president think he is such an incredible speaker that anyone in the world will be charmed by his voice? Is he that full of himself? Mr. President, just because women faint while you speak, it doesn't mean some religious nut-job is going to do anything but yawn while you offer the latest concessions and threats. Ahamadinnejad does not lose sleep over the prospect of U.N. sanctions. Neither does he care if you send him a dozen red roses and a gift certificate to Macy's.

More "Moderate" Speech From the Democrats

Alan Grayson, a Democratic congressman from Florida, says "Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick."

I guess he didn't hear Nancy Pelosi's tearful speech about toning down the rhetoric. Oh, that's right. Her speech was directed only at Conservatives. Democrats always use appropriate speech when they make their fact based intellectual points, and that is why, if you are waiting for our Speaker of the House to rebuke Rep. Grayson, you are liable to experience a very long wait.

How Can You Say That About Him? Haven't You Seen His Movies?

I will keep my comments about Roman Polanski brief, because far too much time has been spent on this story by our media. I do agree that Polanski should be put in jail, but aside from that obvious truth, there is no new development in the saga and meanwhile, there other small stories (such as Iran's nuclear bomb) that may actually be a tad bit more important.

I am going to take a slightly different angle. I am going to question Hollywood directors getting together on behalf of a fellow director  and signing a petition for Polanski's amnesty. I find this disgusting and not because I am down on the arts. I am an artist myself. I hold a degree in Theater from San Jose State University. I have also written and directed many plays.

My problem is this: When Polanski is defended as a director, by directors I get the impression that he would not be defended if he were just some average Joe. Would Hollywood have any other valid reason to protect a man who drugged and raped a 13 year old? The message between the lines seems to be, "OK, so he had a moment of weakness, but he's also an incredible director. How can you think the man is all that bad?  Haven't you seen his beautiful movies?"

What is beautiful to me is justice. And justice does not work when a director gets a free pass for something a school teacher or janitor would go to jail for.
